“Oh Yeah” Summer Camp

The “OH-YEAH” Summer Camp is the perfect place for club level skaters to get high level instruction, training, education, and fun! It includes 20 hours of off-ice instruction, 10+ hours of on-ice instruction, activities like hiking, curling, & an adventure course, in addition to meetings with professionals in their field such as Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Strength & Conditioning, and more. All participants must be members of US Speedskating. Registration Deadline is June 12th!

Schedule

Monday, June 26th

  • Morning and early afternoon reserved for travel
  • 4:30 pm Introduction
  • Meeting and Training Session
  • Finished by 7:30 pm

Tuesday-Friday June 27th-30th

  • 8 am – 7 pm with 1.5-2hrs break for Lunch

Saturday July 1st – 8 am – 7 pm

  • Morning LT Races & Afternoon ST Races
  • Video analysis and wrap up meeting

What to Bring

  • ST Skates (and Long Track Skates if you have them but not mandatory)
  • ST protective gear (helmet, neck guard, gloves, knee pads, shin guards)
  • Skinsuit(s) for on-ice workouts
  • Dry-land training clothes (shorts, t-shirt, socks, etc)
  • On-ice jacket or shirt ( the Oval is a balmy 63 degrees, so you won’t need to dress too warm)
  • Workout shoes (we will be hiking, so bring some you don’t mind getting dirty)
  • Sharpening equipment (highly recommended)
  • Water bottle(s)
  • Food container (you are on your own for food, so we recommend bringing something with you for lunch and/or to snack on throughout the day)
  • Deodorant!

Accommodation + Transport

Participants will be responsible for their own room & board and transportation to and from the camp and camp activities. For transport to the Olympic Park in Park City for the Adventure Course, the Afternoon in the Park, and the Hike, the Oval’s 15-passenger van will be used.
