The Theatre On Ice skating team and clinic class is designed for skaters interested in the fastest growing discipline in figure skating. Soon to be an Olympic sport, Theatre On Ice skating is a combination of formation skating, group maneuvers and tricks, beautiful team costumes, and skater comradery.
Teams perform at Basic Skills competitions, regionally, and to the World Stage, depending on level. Theatre On Ice teams are also invited to perform at various rinks around the Salt Lake area.
Come check out this group class/clinic, and take part in being one of the first teams the Utah Olympic Oval will be showcasing for 2016-17 season.
Winter session includes:
A performance team designed to perform throughout the Winter at several events. There are many benefits to participating in a team sport, and synchronized skating is a great way for figure skaters to compete in a sport they love while enjoying the aspects of working with others in a team-oriented sport. Theatre on Ice skating offers the additional benefit of continuing to develop individual skating skills in a team environment. Theatre On Ice (TOI) is a form of competitive figure skating that is popular in Europe, where it is known as Ballet on Ice. It combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theater and dance. Teams consist of between 8-30 skaters. Theatre on Ice is a growing sport within the United States as it offers a very individualized approach to team skating. Theatre on Ice also offers the additional benefit of developing the emotional and performance aspect of skating that can be of great use in individual programs.
