This program is designed for the serious, committed, cross country skier, who wants to get better. However, Comp Team is not just based on ability, but also the desire to commit to a goal and then embrace the process. If working hard and training with people of a similar mindset is appealing, traveling long distances throughout the Intermountain West with your close friends is attractive, and trying and participating in a variety of activities to achieve a common goal is inspiring, you may want to consider this program. The curriculum incorporates the latest theories on endurance training, periodization, peaking, and interval training to increase capacity. Emphasis is placed on physical conditioning, including cardiovascular development, specific strength training for cross country skiers, as well as technique and racing strategies.
