UOLF awarded $7,500 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation
Removing financial barriers for youth participation in winter sports

PARK CITY, UTAH (November 9, 2021) – U.S. Bank, through the U.S. Bank Foundation, has awarded a $7,500 grant to Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation (UOLF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring active, healthy lifestyles by increasing community uses of Utah’s  venues.

The grant will support UOLF’s Healthy Community Initiative which celebrates racial, gender and economic diversity by introducing low- to moderate-income youth to new sporting opportunities. UOLF works with local schools, physical education classes and at-risk programs to provide transportation, equipment, field time and instruction for youth in Utah communities.

“We are honored to have the U.S. Bank Foundation champion our Healthy Communities initiative,” said Colin Hilton, UOLF President and CEO. “With their support, we’re able to provide opportunities to youth in our venue communities, regardless of socioeconomic circumstance. Launched in 2018, Healthy Communities has grown to over 1500 kids, annually. Our vision is to bring to life the competitive spirit in our youth, our communities and athletes from around the world.”

Through the Community Possible areas of Work, Home and Play, U.S. Bank provides grants in all three areas to address racial, social, and economic inequities supporting small businesses, creating housing, and connecting communities through arts, culture, and recreation. U.S. Bank makes “Play” possible by investing in community programs that supports ways for children and adults to play and create in venues across the country. This year’s $7,500 funding to UOLF follows a $67 million overall philanthropic investment nationwide in 2020.

“We believe communities are stronger when they are connected through safe, accessible recreational play spaces,” said Tim LyBarger, U.S. Bank Community Banking region president in Utah. “We’re proud to support UOLF’s investment in community programming that provides children access to sports activities and healthy lifestyles.”
